Foxie Bombs - a small black-owned business (!!!) whose creator enjoys experimenting with funky packaging and enticing scents. This shop is ideal for bath time indulgences.
Colour Pop - With eyeshadows in a rainbow of high-intensity shades ("a zillion colors to choose from") and equally awesome satin and matte lip products, not to mention low prices - this brand is hard to beat. MDM Flow - If their gilded bullet packaging wasn't cool enough, listen to this "MDMflow is a post 90s brand influenced by the glamour associated with mid 90s–00s hip hop culture." I'm sold. Floss Gloss- From their own website “Floss Gloss strives to offer the contemporary nail polish consumer with the most rare, custom curated colors and shades paired with exquisite packaging and exceptional opacity and coverage.” My favorite shade is ‘Smoke on the Nail’ NYX - Beauty-gurus flock to NYX for inexpensive products that stay put. Their ever popular lip cremes go on smoothly and last for hours. A great way to test out a variety of nudes to find the right one! Dirty Grl - These super cute bar soaps are also 100% Vegan. They’re a perfect gift for a friend (or yourself). I love the Wildflower Boom (Proceeds support #WILDFLOWERBOOM, an initiative to plant beautiful, colorful wildflowers everywhere!) Lime Crime - Their logo is gosh-darn unicorn for crying out loud! Their lipsticks come in unique shades such as pastel blues and muted browns. I am in love with their Venus eyeshadow palettes - a perfect ode to the 90's. 1) Nightcrawler (2014) Dan Gilroy. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
2) Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014) Peter Chelsom. Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike. 3) Ida (2013) Pawel Pawlikowski, Agata Trzebuchowska. 4) Freaks and Geeks (1999-2000) Paul Feig. I love the look of gold against tanned skin. With many student getting back from Cabo San Lucas or Miami after spring break, bronzed complexions are showing up around campus. Although my skin is still a milky white, this is a trend I can get on board with (and maybe spend some time on the sunny quad?). Regardless, I can't wait to layer delicate golden necklaces this season. From religious symbols - the Virgin Mary, praying hands, or the Egyptian ankh to simple teardrops and sparkly chokers - there are many ways to approach lightweight necklaces. I like my necklaces in twos or threes (as seen above). Typically, I pair one 'symbol' necklace with a more charm heavy shorter necklace. Clockwise from top left: Virgin Mary necklace (14k gold) $26, Bubu Ruby. Cubic Zirconia Bezel Drip necklace (Yellow Gold), $45.99, Poppy chain. Yellow Gold Moon and Star Necklace (gold and diamonds), $1090, meira t. Mother Mary dainty necklace, $58, Child of Wild.
It's spring and sometimes it's rainy and sometimes it's sunny, but I'm happy that it's not winter anymore. Being outside is essential to my well-being, just getting some fresh air and a little vitamin d and i can feel my mood elevating. I've been on an iced beverage kick - when I wake up in the morning my body screams for something cold and caffeine packed. Monday it's an iced soy matcha latte, Tuesday an iced coffee with almond milk, Wednesday a chai latte... you get the idea. I've been posting my beverage adventure on various forms of social media (Instagram, Facebook) for fun ... March 21: "feeling ultra basic as i sit sipping my soy matcha latté pondering if i should tweet about the vine I watched earlier of a kinkajou eating fruit but instead scroll through tumblr looking at the yeezy collection and matte nude lip cremes. time to log off and get back to studying Goya circa 1819" March 22: "today rather than drinking a matcha latte, i'm having an iced coffee as my mind races through romanticism and rococo and transform faults. luckily, i have porches playing in the background (Lucy.) i plan to unwind after my tests with another healthy dose of frankie and pass the time with my new goldfish friend habibi" March 23: "kinda feeling myself today (very typical angsty side view with iced coffee)" March 24:
