I have always loved Into the Gloss and for the past couple of years, I've been experimenting with different beauty products. Getting to know my skin has been a huge part, but things such as color and scent also play a role.
In terms of skincare, I have combination skin. It's generally fairly sensitive and dry, but oil pops up around my nose and chin, leading to a bit of acne now and then. I like to use ultra-moisturizing, unscented facial and body lotions. I wash my face with a little Cetaphil cleanser and follow with a mist of rosewater (either Maria Badescu's rose and aloe spray or Heritage Rosewater and Glycerin). The on I slather on some CeraVe. Sun care is essential for my fair complexion and I love Shiseido's waterproof sunblock. I exfoliate a few times a week with St. Ive's Apricot scrub and e.l.f lip exfoliator. Glossier's Balm Dot Com and Aquaphor are my go-to cure-all balms for lips and rough patches, as well as shiny eyelids and dewy skin. If I'm feeling something scented, I like Aesop's Resolute Hydrating Body Balm and for my hands, Kiehl's hand salve (it's a great size for dropping in your purse). Sometimes, my skin needs a bit of a pick-me-up and that's when I turn to highly concentrated oils. Sea buckthorn, rosehip, and vitamin E oil are my favorites. It's crazy what rosehip oil can do for your skin, I swear it has changed mine for the better! I also make my own mask, which I do once a week, combining the detoxifying and calming effects of activated charcoal, bentonite clay, chamomile, tea tree oil, and apple cider vinegar. I actually store my masks in repurposed Glossier containers! (The other one is homemade deodorant, recipes to come soon)
Also pictured are some of my basic makeup regimen. I like MAC's brightly colored lipsticks, NYX soft matte lip cream, Clinique chubby sticks, and Fresh Sugar (Nude). A touch of Glossier's Boy Brow pulls the look together. To take it all off, I use Aesop Remove, a little goes a long way.
When my body is sore, I take a soak in Dr. Singha's Mustard Bath. I apply Tiger Balm, a spicy warming ointment, to my kinks and burn some Palo Santo sticks (smells so amazing)!
I like to use natural deodorants because regular brands are full of harmful chemicals. It's hard to find one that works, but I like Lavanila Pure Vanilla, so I swipe some on in the morning and dab on a little sandalwood oil. If I'm feeling sweaty or having issues with chaffing, I dust myself in Lush's Silky Underwear Powder.
In terms of hair, after my shower, I comb my locks through with some Living Proof Style Extender and blow dry with Dry Bar's Buttercup. To keep my look fresh, I spray in Dry Bar Triple Sec before bed.
